Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski has equalled the Champions League records of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lewandowski joined Ronaldo and Messi in an exclusive Champions League club this week after he scored in his side’s quarter-final second leg 1-1 draw against Villarreal.

His goal against Villarreal means the Poland striker became one of just three players to score 30 or more Champions League knockout goals in history, according to MEN.

Lewandowski’s goal gave Bayern the lead in their quarter-final second leg against Villarreal.

But it wasn’t enough for the Bundesliga giants to progress to the Champions League last-4.

Villarreal scored a late equalizer at the Allianz Arena to win the tie 2-1 on aggregate, knocking Bayern Munich out at the quarter-final stage.

That means Lewandowski, Ronaldo and Messi are out of the Champions League as the competition reaches the semi-final stage.

He is ahead of second position Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, who has 12 goals.
