Kemi Olunloyo, a retired investigative journalist was on her Twitter account to highlight a critical issue that politicians are turning a blind eye to in the southern part of the country. The issue Kemi Olunloyo is talking about is the consumption of drugs, especially the use of a deadly and addictive drug popularly referred to as Mkpuru Mmiri by the south easterners.
According to Wikipedia, Methamphetamine also known as Mkpuru Mmiri is a highly addictive and psycho stimulant drug that is consumed because of its euphoric effect that is similar to the effect of cocaine. The consumption of the drug is not peculiar to the south east alone but it seems it is consumed on a large scale there, though there no statistics to back that up.
Kemi Olunloyo used her Twitter platform to call the attention of politicians and the people of the south east to the effect meth might have on their communities if the menace is not properly managed. She said politicians are not talking about the devastating effect of the abuse of crystal meth which might cause chaos in communities.
