The Former Governor of Lagos State, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode who happened to be the only 1 term governor in Lagos since the return of democracy to Nigeria has shown interest in picking the Nomination Forms to contest the 2023 governorship race on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, (APC).
The former governor who has earlier lost the APC second term ticket to the current governor of Lagos State, Gov. Akinwumi Ambode in hype to 2019 gubernatorial elections to Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
An intimate associate of Mr. Ambode make this confession during an interview with Vanguard Newspaper. In his word, he said the former governor has make his final decision to purchase the form to challenge the current governor turing the APC primary. “I am talking to you as a friend that he (Ambode) may likely come out this week on the platform of the APC to contest against Sanwo-Olu at the governorship primary”, he said.
Conclusively, according to the chairman of the Akinwunmi Ambode Campaign Group, he told the APC members and the general public that Mr. Ambode will announce his decision latest by Friday May 6th, 2022″.
