Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, stated on Thursday that some All Progressives Congress presidential candidates will willingly resign from the race during the ruling party’s presidential primaries.
The APC had set the price of its presidential nomination and expression of interest forms at N100 million, a decision that hasn’t deterred key party figures from purchasing them.
Nigerians have chastised the ruling party for charging a high price for its form, yet more than 20 stakeholders have expressed their intention to run in the party’s primary election.
According to reports, the APC is still anticipating more party members to join their campaign to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari at the end of his term.
In a tweet, Omokri stated that some candidates will willingly quit from the race, similar to how an APC youth leader who cried during the party’s last convention did.
“Remember how one APC youth leader cried as he ‘voluntarily withdrew’ from the race during the last APC convention? That is how Osinbajo, Amaechi, Fayemi, Amosun, Nwajiuba, Ngige, Umahi, Bello and co will weepingly withdraw on the day of the APC Presidential primaries!” Omokri predicted.” Omokri predicted.
