ACTION NEEDED TO PREVENT DISTURBANCES IN NAWFIA, NJIKOKA LGA, ANAMBRA STATE.
Your Excellency, your predecessor, Chief Willie Obiano, intent on causing confusion in Nawfia imposed a caretaker Committee, composed of compromisable and incompetent characters on Nawfia. This Committee and its imposition that was meant to correct the cabalic leadership in the town ended up creating more confusion in the town.
Within days of its imposition, an unqualified candidate was installed by this committee as an autonomous iGWE without any input from Nawfians. Nawfia is the only town in Anambra with two autonomous iGWES and one real Igwe. This is an abomination.
Currently, the NPU—Nawfia Progressive Union—Caretaker Committee or more rightly, the NPU Confusion Committee is trying to foist an illegal cONSTITUTION Committee using elements from the same village that has been the source of all the problems in Nawfia. The Chairman of the Caretaker Committee and Chairman of the illegal cONSTITUTION Committee hail from the same village. One village—Enugo Mmimi—is excluded from any of the Committees. The current Igwe of Nawfia is from Enugo Mmimi.
These are the same problems that led to the assassination of Igwe F.F.B.C. Nwankwo in his palace. Another Nawfia indigene was clubbed to death under the cabalic administration of a President of the town’s union from the aforementioned village. Houses have been burnt, vehicles burnt, and private properties destroyed. Guns were freely used in these disturbances. Going by the antecedents and exclusionary governance of this Confusion Committee, there may be more deaths on the horizon!
In the interest of justice, equity, peace, and fairness, please dissolve this Caretaker Committee and pronounce all their actions ultra vires and inimical to the maintenance of public order.
