Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President of Nigeria and presidential aspirant of the PDP, has shed more light on his now-deleted tweet that stirred mixed reactions regarding the attack on Deborah in Sokoto State. During his recent visit to Governor Obaseki in Edo state, Atiku recalled his antecedents.
Addressing the issue, Atiku said, “Every tweet has to get my approval. Unfortunately, I was traveling across the country and this tweet did not have my approval. Therefore, I directed that it should be taken down. Every tweet must have my express approval.
Atiku explained further by saying, “I am not afraid to take a stand on issues. You know the stand I took on Sharia law? I was pelted and abused in the north. However, how long did Sharia last? At some point, they were practicing political sharia. I was vilified, and they did all sorts of things against me, but that did not make me change. Where is the Sharia today? The only thing that went wrong was that it was unauthorized.
