Police DIG, Amadi Visits Anambra State Police Command, Interacts With Officers

The newly appointed Deputy Inspector General, DIG, Of Police in-charge of Research and Planning at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja, Mr. Ogbonna Amadi has visited the Anambra State Command of the force and interacted with men and officers of the command.

DIG Amadi is also the DIG supervising the South East Zone.

The DIG who was received by the Anambra State Commissioner Of Police, Anambra State, Mr Echeng Echeng was welcomed at the State Police Command Headquarters, Amawbia by the Police Ceremonial Quater Guard Parade and senior officers before he proceeded to the command conference hall where he interacted with officers.

In a welcome address, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Echeng congratulated DIG Amadi on his new appointment and commended his exploits as officer while serving under the Anambra State Police Command, notably as Officer-In-Charge of now disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Awkuzu, Divisional Police Officer in charge of different areas within the state among other positions.

Mr. Echeng appreciated the Inspector General Of Police, Mr. Alkali Baba Usman for his support in conducting a peaceful election last year November despite the challenges.

He regretted that Anambra is being threatened by criminal elements and when considered with its economic importance in the South East and by extension the entire nation calls for serious concerns and stated that the command is making frantic efforts to nip the criminal activities in the bud through a new approach.

DIG Amadi prayed for the repose of officers and men who have paid the supreme price in the course of their duty and emphasized that better crime fighting approach must be sought in dealing with criminal elements who are causing havoc and destabilizing Anambra and the entire South East.

Mr. Amadi was recently appointed by the Inspector General Of Police, Mr. Usman to replace late DIG Joseph Egbunike who died in active service after a brief illness.
