Deji Adeyanju, a Lawyer, human rights activist, and the convener of Concerned Nigerians (a movement on democracy and good governance), named three candidates in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who are likely and positioned to emerge as the party’s leading candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
It is common knowledge that only one candidate can represent a political party for the post of the President, which is why primary elections are held in various parties to elect a single delegate to represent them in the general election.
To this end, Deji Adeyanju opined that one of Abubakar Atiku, Nyesom Wike, and Aminu Tambuwal will emerge as PDP’s leading delegate. According to him, the reason is that the PDP Governors want one of Nyesom Wike or Aminu Tambuwal to win, as they might also team up against Atiku Abubakar.
He however stated that the best choice and most popular candidate for PDP is Peter Obi, but he advised him to leave PDP and join another political party to run for the election since he is not likely to win the primary election, as things look.
