Reason why I dumped PDP and Presidential Aspiration – Peter Obi

Peter Obi, a former Anambra State Governor and popular presidential aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, has recently dumped the People’s Democratic Party for an undisclosed Party.

The Ex governor in a letter titled ” Resignation From Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Withdrawal from the Presidential Contest ”, revealed that the present developments may prevent him from making ‘ constructive contributions ‘ to the nation as a whole.

Obi in a letter to the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, said ” I am writing to intimate you of my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party, which was conveyed to the Chairman of Agulu Ward 2. Anaocha LGA Anambra, effective Friday 20 May, 2022. Consequently, I am by this letter informing you of my withdrawal for the PDP Presidential Primaries.”

The former Governor said that he was existing the party with a heavy heart but in pursuit of the interest of the Citizens of Nigeria as that has always been his aim.

It could be recalled that some group had bought the PDP nomination form for Peter Obi earlier last month which he accepted with happiness and promises to make this benefactors happy, it is however unclear what the fate if this people might be after his resignation from the PDP.

However, it has been widely rumoured that the Presidential aspirant was planning to join the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP, where Kwankwaso belongs. This is coming as campaign posters of Peter Obi and Kwankwaso floods everywhere.

It is however unclear if the presidential hopeful has joined the NNPP officially as the information is unverified.

Not withstanding, many Nigerians including popular music star, Peter of Peter and Paul, have continued to drum their support for Peter Obi, no matter the party he is in. Many noted that they where following Peter Obi a d not the party.
