Shehu Sani urges Buhari to reappoint Amaechi as transport minister, gives reason

Senator Shehu Sani has called on the federal government to please reappoint Rotimi Amaechi to the ministry of transportation.

Amaechi was one of those vying for the presidential seat under All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former governor of Rivers State was the minister of transportation until May 16th, 2022, when he resigned to focus on his presidential ambition.

Meanwhile, Amaechi’s presidential ambition through the All Progressives Congress came to an end yesterday when he lost to Tinubu, who was declared the winner of the APC primaries and will be the flagbearer of the party come 2023.

Senator Shehu Sani, a prominent politician and human rights activist, has therefore urged the President, Muhammadu Buhari, to please consider reappointing Amaechi to the transportation ministry to enable him to finish up his promised railway projects, so as not to leave scraps of uncompleted projects that will be burdensome to the incoming government.

He tweeted,

“The President should reappoint Amaechi back to Transportation ministry to finish up his promised Railway projects, so that we are not left with scraps of uncompleted Rail lines and vague contractual agreements with China.”
