Police in Delta arrest female gun-runner, 51 cultists, 80yr-old cartridges dealer

A suspected female gun-runner, Victoria Itila, has been arrested by the police in Delta State.




The suspected gun runner was nabbed when the police intercepted a Toyota Hiace bus, during a stop and search operation, along the Sapele-Benin Expressway.

Six locally-made double-barreled guns found in her possession were recovered.

In another development, the Police Command Raider’s Unit has arrested an eighty-year-old suspected cartridges dealer in Kokori, Ethiope East Local Council Area, and recovered one hundred and fourteen rounds of live cartridges from the octogenarian.

Also, fifty suspected cultists belonging to the Eiye Confraternity have been arrested at the Big Apple Hotel in Oguwashi-Uku, while marking their anniversary.

Two cut-to-size locally made guns and one expended cartridge were recovered from them.

Delta State Commissioner Of Police, Ari Mohammed, in a Press Release, said all suspects will be prosecuted once investigations are completed.
