Just few days ago, some journalists met with Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, (Anyichuks) who is the PDP Governorship candidate in Ebonyi State, and posed some questions to him to ascertain his core areas of concentration in Ebonyi State if he wins.
Reporter: it seems that the issue concerning the PDP primary election is still lingering, what is happening?
Dr Odii; Thank you, I appreciate your sincere questions. Yes, on the 28th & 29th of May, 2022 the PDP conducted their Governorship primary in Ebonyi State; and I won convincingly. Many of our party faithfuls believed it’s time to move from political rhetorics to real development, and having known my programs, they believe I have what it takes to win the Governorship election and thus transform Ebonyi State. Unfortunately, some people connived with others to declare that the primary election has been cancelled. I went to court and the courts have said that I am the authentic PDP candidate in Ebonyi State. My name is already in INEC, so that’s the situation.
Reporter: What will be your core areas of concentration if you win the election.?
Dr Odii: I am a wealth creator, a business mogul. I strongly believe that we must engage the youths of Ebonyi to become successful entrepreneurs, with the necessary trade vocations to be productive. I will also work hard to ensure that in the area of Agriculture, that Ebonyi State is tops. We have good arable land and we can become the food basket of Nigeria, as well engage seriously in cash crops for exports. This will also cause our people to become owners of agriculture primary industries. With these, we shall be redistributing wealth in Ebonyi State for all the peoples; the youth, the women, and everybody.
Reporter: From what we can see, it looks like that you are being backed heavily by the youths of Ebonyi State.
Dr Odii; In the last 10 years I have variously supported our youths in education, by giving scholarships, and rebuilding most of our schools, done creative economic empowerments for the youth, send many to learn different vocations, and encouraged many through various means. So if the youths are rooting for me as their next Governor, they have genuine reasons to. I am youth friendly, I love our youths, and I will make them important in this coming government under my watch.
