Babachir David Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation has maintained his stance on the decision of the presidential flag bearer of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pick a Muslim as his running mate. He believes that a Muslim-Muslim ticket has excluded some Nigerians and shouldn’t be allowed to stand.
According to him, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in trouble and everyone outside the party knows that because Senator Kashim Shettima is ambitious and has some dictatorial tendency. He believes that a Muslim-Muslim ticket can’t work in a multi-religious nation like Nigeria.
According to him, a Muslim-Muslim ticket is a disastrous error. He went on to say that the final report he submitted to Bola Ahmed Tinubu never had a list of nominees, but the advantages and disadvantages of running a Muslim-Muslim ticket were stated in the report, and the disadvantages outweighed the advantages.
