Yesterday, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Osun State Governorship election has been officially announced as the Governor-elect of the State. Senator Ademola Adeleke of PDP won the election with a huge margin, and defeated the All Progressive Congress’ candidate, Adegboyega Oyetola, amongst other candidates.
Based on the statistics released by INEC, Ademola Adeleke won the election with a valid votes of 403,371, while Gboyega Oyetola had 375,027 votes.
Thus, after the results were announced, different people across the State congratulated him, and much precisely, different TV stations interviewed him and recorded a speech by the Governor-elect. In his speech, he explained how that Osun State people supported him in 2018, and that he promised to run for the post again in 2022, and yet, they supported him for the second time, and he WON.
He then promised that he will make the people proud and happy, while saying “I love you, Osun people.”
One of the TV channels there was Arise News, who also questioned him about what he will do as the Governor-elect. According to the reports given by Arise News in a video recorded, the Governor elect reveals that Osun State people should expect great things to come to the State, and more precisely, the State will never go backwards in his tenure as the Governor.
In his own words, he said: “They should expect great things to come to Osun State. This Governor is for the people, for the grassroots.”
