Deputy Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives, Ahmed Idris Wase has completely ruled out any chance of impeachment against President Muhammadu Buhari in the lower chamber.
Speaking with journalists shortly after a closed door meeting with the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma in Abuja, Wase who was on a wide consultation for his All Progressives Congress(APC) denied the plot to impeach Buhari in the House.
He said those pushing the agenda are misguided lawmakers in the minority Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stressing that the move will fall flat if it is pushed on the floor of the green chamber.
The Plateau State born lawmaker said the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) remains intact and is determined to retain power in 2023.
He however called on the leadership of the party to close ranks and work towards the victory of former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima at the polls next year.
Wase was elected Deputy Speaker in the 9th National Assembly, House of Representatives unopposed with 358 votes.
