As political analysts are making different permutations about the 2023 presidential election according to geopolitical zones in Nigeria, the Governor of Delta who doubled as the Vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ifeanyi Okowa, told a congregation of people that the PDP will defeat other political parties in the South-East in 2023. Okowa said,
“We are aware that Anambra has two presidential candidates for the 2023 election, but we are going to win, not just a landslide, but an impressive margin. We will also garner massive votes from the South-East in general and Anambra State in particular, even though the state is parading two presidential candidates of Labour Party and All Progressives Grand Alliance.”
Recall that Governor Okowa was chosen by Atiku Abubakar as his vice-presidential candidate despite all opposition from Wike’s camp in the party. Okowa is from Delta State which is in the South-South geopolitical zone. Some political analysts have opined that his choice of VP will help the PDP to gather votes from the South-South and South East.
