The transition committee chairman Ihiala local government area of Anambra state Hon. Kingsley Obi has declared that Ihiala is set for massive grassroot transformation especially as he commenced official duties with palliatives on a very gigantic porthole at Orlu road junction near Total petrol station on the Onitsha-Owerri federal highway.
The said gigantic porthole has been a nightmare and death trap to people in the area but with the support of public spirited individuals and philanthropists, human and vehicular movements have been made a lot easier because the TC chairman deployed resources for remedial works on the said bad portions of the road.
This according to him was the beginning of a new era of transmission of good governance to the 10 communities of Ihiala local government area in line with the message of disruptive change of the Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.
The TC chairman in an interview regarding his work plan, said the people were happy with the step he has taken as evident in his timely response to the filling of the pothole that has constituted a source of worry and inconvenience to them.
Obi also disclosed that all the councilors have been mandated to source the most pressing needs of their various wards for onward presentation to government and stakeholders for holistic interventions, stressing that youth development programmes as well as life-changing schemes will be top on the agenda of his regime to uplifting the living conditions of the people.
He said Ihiala is peaceful and one of the most serene environments for businesses to thrive. Obi said education, agriculture and some other sectors would be looked into inorder to revamp local economy as well as make it more vibrant for the people at the grassroots.
