The FA has announced that Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea’s head coach will get one match ban and £35,000 fine which was as a result of overheated touchline incidence with Antonio Conte, Tottenham’s head coach; and also complaining about the Richard Taylor’s and Mike Dean’s errors in their last encounter at Stamford Bridge.
Similarly, Antonio Conte will also get one match ban and £15,000 fine.
However, the match bans will be suspended temporarily until written reasons are prepared by the FA.
The Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur match on Sunday was a cauldron of fraying nerves. The match officials made errors which led to Tottenham equalizing to end in the game in draw at Stamford Bridge.
During the course of the game, when Tottenham equalised the first goal, Conte and Tuchel charged at each other, but only Conte was given yellow card.
At the end of the match, Tuchel and Conte had another skirmish during the end of the match handshake, that they’d to be separated by the bystanders and other officials. Both were given red card by Richard Taylor.
During the week press conference, Tuchel complained about the referees and how their officiating errors caused them the possible three points at Stamford Bridge.
In FA rules, it’s prohibited to speak against match officials as it carries match ban and fine, depending on the severity of the penalty.
It’s expected that both coaches will appeal the judgement.
Based on that, Thomas Tuchel’s fine was more severe than Antonio Conte’s fine.
Both will be unavailable for their next matches in the Premier League.
While Tuchel’s Chelsea faces Leeds United at Elland Roads on Sunday, Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur will host Wolverhampton Wanderers at the White Hart Lane on Saturday.
