A community leader from Arochukwu Local Government Area, Chief Ijioma Okoro Nkemdirim, says a former Senator representing Abia North senatorial district, Mao Ohuabunwa was planning to cause crisis in the ancient town of Arochukwu.
Nkemdirim alleged that Ohuabunwa was planning to disrupt the event organized by Arochukwu women and further disrupt the ward-to-ward tour of the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in Arochukwu.
Nkemdirim in a chat with journalists on Thursday morning called on the President General of Nzuko Arochukwu to call Ohuabunwa and his group to order, warning that Ohuabunwa’s action was capable of causing serious crisis to the community.
“I am appealing to the President General of Nzuko Arochukwu to call Senator Mao Ohuabunwa to order. We don’t want problem in Arochukwu Local Government Area. We don’t want the Army to invade Arochukwu. Let him call Mao and his brothers to disengage the boys they brought from Rivers State to cause crisis in Arochukwu.
“Politics should be played devoid of bitterness. Mao Ohuabunwa should not use Arochukwu people to fight anyone. This is democracy, people should be allowed to support their candidates. Arochukwu is a peaceful town and we want to remain peaceful,” he said.
