2023: Tinubu Speaks After President Buhari Revealed Candidates He Will Support For Election

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has reacted to the revelation by President Muhammadu Buhari on the candidates he would support for the 2023 election.

According to Tinubu, he is happy with the stand of the President and Buhari must be commended for openly and boldly making his stand known.

According to reports, the APC candidate expressed his opinion on Saturday in Abuja while hosting APC National Working Committee (NWC) members at the Tinubu/Shettima campaign headquarters.

President Buhari said on Wednesday that he will only back genuine All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the elections of 2023, and Tinubu responded a few days later.

In a statement made by his senior special assistant for media and publicity, Garba Shehu, the President said that he would not back anyone who decamped to another party or filed legal actions against legitimately elected APC candidates or the party.

In addition, he warned individuals who had left the APC not to blame him for their choices because he was still wholly dedicated to the group.

Buhari claims that the APC helped put him in office and that he won’t do anything to harm or damage the chances of the party in the upcoming election.

In response, Tinubu stated on Saturday that he approves of the President’s statement.

I agree with the President’s recent statement. As the leader of our party, I must be firm, clear, direct, and brave,” he stated.

The President deserves praise for that assertion. for his dedication to the party and his loyalty to it. And for being a true party leader.”

In addition, Tinubu stated that if elected president of Nigeria in 2023, his administration would prioritize financial reforms, contemporary infrastructure development, and crime reduction.

If and when we are elected, we would endeavor to build Nigeria as a knowledge-based economy that attends to both the country’s immediate needs and long-term goals, he said.
