I Pity Shekarau For Defecting To PDP – Buba Galadima

Shekarau, Buba Galadima

Sen. Malam Ibrahim Shekarau of Kano Central, a senior member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), received compassion from senior member Buba Galadima for defecting to the PDP (PDP).

Shekarau resigned from the NNPP, and Galadima responded by claiming that the majority of his (Shekarau’s) supporters will remain in the organization in an interview with the BBC Hausa service.

He continued, “We had already anticipated this happening. He missed the mark in making this defection, therefore I feel bad for him. Everywhere he defected, he continuously complains about unfair treatment. Despite his recent defection, 90% of his admirers will remain in the NNPP and not follow him, I can assure you.

“I warned you that no party wanted to miss even one vote since Shekarau has many votes and a party can win the presidency with one vote. We didn’t want him to leave, but since he made the decision, we should let him go. Shekarau would be a problem for us even if we win the elections, I can assure you of that.

In the upcoming general elections, he declared that the party would write to INEC to request that Shekarau be replaced as the NNPP’s senatorial candidate for Kano Central.

None of the other presidential contenders, according to Galadima, have even a quarter of the support the NNPP candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has in the north.
