The governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Lagos State on Friday, September 16, 2022.
The governor also paid homage to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubukar, at his palace in Sokoto State.
This was revealed to the public through a statement released on the governor’s verified Twitter handle on Friday.
The statement reads, “Malam Nasir @elrufai was in Lagos today to see President Olusegun Obasanjo. He also visited Sokoto, where he paid homage to His Eminence, Sultan Saad Abubakar.”
The details of the meetings were not included in the statement.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo recently met with many political stakeholders regarding the 2023 presidential election.
The elderstateman met with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He has also met with his contender in the Labour Party, Peter Obi.
Obasanjo also met with Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, and Samuel Ortom of Benue in London a few weeks ago
