While featuring on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics on Sunday night, the spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed revealed that the Northern Elders Forum will subject willing presidential candidates contesting for the 2023 presidency to intense scrutiny, before the North will decide on who to support in 2023.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment and spokesman of the All Progressives Congress’ presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo SAN, who featured on Sunday Politics alongside Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, explained that though the Northern Elders Forum are respected gentlemen, they do not speak for millions of Northerners, as to the presidential candidate they will vote for in 2023.
In reply, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed slammed Festus Keyamo for belittling the Northern Elders Forum and claimed that the All Progressives Congress will fail in the 2023 presidential election, if the party and it’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu think that the Northern Elders Forum won’t play a part in the presidential candidate majority of Northerners vote for in 2023.
