The celebration of Nigeria’s 62nd Independence Day is still in the air and as usual, we asked Nigerians their thoughts on the state of the country. Feedback? Let’s just say they didn’t hold back.
Olusegun Manama revealed he doesn’t feel good given what he termed the pathetic condition of the country. He said that if Nigeria were a human being at 62, she hasn’t started crawling.
A trader, Anna Nwachukwu, said that there was no cause for celebration given the hike in the prices of goods and services.
Destiny Peter, who sells clothes laments the high cost of goods which is affecting him and his customers. He added that Nigeria is not ‘giving him joy’ so there is nothing to celebrate.
Albert Obasi, who deals in shoes, is more focused on who emerges Nigeria’s next leader than anything else. His eyes are on the lookout for a leader in the forthcoming election who will lift and change Nigeria. He added that he doesn’t want Nigeria to be divided.
Please feel free to share your thoughts on Nigeria at 62 in the comment section.
