Breaking: APC Suspend Uzo Azubuike From Party, Gives Reason

The leadership of Abia state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has suspended former House of Representatives member representing Aba North and South federal constituency, Uzo Azubuike, from the party.




Also suspended was a former commissioner for Finance Mr. Obinna Oriaku.

Azubuike, also a former commissioner for Agriculture in the state under Governor Okezie Ikpeazu administration before defecting to the APC and his finance counterpart, who equally joined the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), were suspended by the APC for anti-party activities.

A statement the party issued for their expulsion said it wielded the big stick against the two members, “following reports of acts of disobedience and negligence in carrying out lawful directives of the party, unrepentant as well as their un-remorseful attitude despite warnings for them to abide by the party’s constitution.”

The party warned other people engaging in such act to desist or face the full wrath of its constitution.

Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, on Wednesday, inaugurated an eight-man reconciliation Committee for the Abia State chapter of the party with a strict warning that warring chieftains of the party should cease fire and give peace a chance.

The Committee has Senator Chris Adighije and Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Honourable Nkeiruka Onyejeocha as Chairman and Secretary respectively.

Speaking with newsmen after inaugurating the team, Senator Adamu vowed that he would no longer listen to complaints about the crisis rocking the Abia State chapter of the party.

He appealed to chieftains of the party in the South-East state to learn to work as one united political family.

Also speaking with journalists, the Chairman of the reconciliation team, Senator Adighije, promised “to reconcile all the aggrieved members of our party, so that we can build strength and face the challenges from other parties. We have to get together and quickly do so. ”
