Amid ongoing internal squabbles in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2023 general elections, renowned political and public affairs analyst, Gbolahan Olojede has come out to share his thoughts on the possibility of the G5 governors endorsing the candidacy of Labour Party flag bearer, Peter Gregory Obi.
Speaking during an interview on WAZOBIA TV’s ‘Gudu Morning’ program a few hours ago, Olojede opined that judging by the recent statements made by Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, and Nyesom Wike of Rivers, it could be safe to say that the G5 governors may endorse Obi. Going further, the renowned political analyst also pointed out that Wike and his allies may also be using their latest romance with Obi as a bargaining chip to force the Atiku camp into giving in to their demands.
He said; “It looks like the governors will endorse Obi. When you hear the kind of talk that came out from Obi’s visits, for example, to Samuel Ortom in Benue. And when Obi visited Wike’s domain, you heard the kind of talk that came from there. But then, this talk could also be a bargaining chip. Don’t overtrust these politicians. They could also be playing this up hoping that it would be enough to bring them to the table with the other PDP guys. Atiku might say he does not want the G5 governors hobnobbing with Obi and he could ask Ayu to tender his resignation letter.”
