As the 2023 general elections approach, security agencies are intensifying measures to ensure that the process is smooth and transparent throughout the nation. Great success has been achieved in this regard.

In Kaduna state, authorities of the Immigrations service say over the past two weeks, they have arrested several foreigners in the state who were in possession of permanent voter cards. The operatives also discovered that some of the foreigners had other critical national documents.

The Kaduna Immigration chief explained that foreigners with legal documents are welcome into the country but he insists that such people don’t have the right to vote or participate in any of the nations electoral process. Offenders will be dealt with according to extant laws.

The service is determined to intensify search and surveillance operations to ensure a free and fair electoral process come 2023.

Ensuring interference in the nations’ electoral process in 2023 is a major part of the challenges that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, will face in the period leading up to the Election from not just Nigerians who will do anything to bend the process to their will but also non-state actors who will be trying to do everything possible to undermine the process.
