Stamp Duty Corruption: Revelation Can Bring Down The Whole Government – Daniel Bwala

A spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign, Daniel Bwala has warned that the corruption among government officials involved in the controversial stamp duty fund is capable of bringing down the entire government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He claimed the issues surrounding the stamp duty fund are more than what the average person understands.

Bwala said to be able to get to the root of the issues, President Buhari may have to cut through many bureaucratic strongholds and unveil the truth.

The Atiku campaign spokesperson stated this while speaking during an interview on Channels Television Politics Today.

Akelicious reports he spoke against the recent war of words between the presidency and a member of the House of Representatives, Gudaji Kazaure.

Kazaure had alleged that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), and some other agencies were making efforts to frustrate investigations done on the recovery of N89 trillion stamp funds.

However, the presidency in a statement by Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, dismissed his claims, maintaining that the committee the lawmaker claims he is heading no longer exists.

But Bwala claimed during his interview that Kazaure indicted the entire cabinet with his submission and should the President take the pain to do a proper check, findings may expose a can of worms.

Bwala said, “If you look at the Central Bank, the revelation that came out through Kazaure, House of Reps member is quite instructive and by the time that can of worms of Pandora’s box is open it will probably bring down the whole government; because if you hear his confessional statement he has practically indicted the entire cabinet of the president.

“I am sure again that by the time the president goes beyond bureaucracy and looks at some unconventional ways because Central Bank is applying an unconventional approach, he will discover there has been inter-ministerial committee which has done nothing in that respect.”
