A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress who confided in the Punch correspondent had indicated that Samuel Ortom does not need to support the APC presidential candidate as they have a high chance of taking over the state in the forthcoming election.
There are some reports that the five aggrieved governors in the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, called the G-5, demanded that for them to support the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Ahmed Tinubu, in the 2023 election, he should assure them of the governorship and Senate seat in their state.
Although reports have it that Tinubu has not agreed to their demands, however, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress has indicated that not all the G-5 governors have a strong chance of winning the seat they were demanding in the forthcoming election, as he noted that without Gov. Samuel Ortom’s support, there are bigger chances that the APC will take over the state with the presence of Rev. Father Hyacinth Alia on the poll, on whom they have the assurance to sweep the governorship election.
