It'll Be Difficult For Peter Obi To Get Votes In The Core North Because They Want To Retain Power - Ikokwu

Nigerian journalist, news analyst and teacher, Constance Chiogor Ikokwu has doubted Peter Obi’s and the Labour Party’s chances of getting reasonable number of votes in the core Northern states of the country.

During her appearance on Arise News, Ikokwu said that it is not surprising that Peter Obi is not getting supports from prominent personalities from the North, unlike Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party.

According to her, the Labour Party will get some votes from the Christians in the Northern states like Adamawa, Kaduna, Gombe, Taraba and other North Central States. She further said that the Labour Party will grab a pocket of votes from some Northern states where the Christians are disgruntled and upset that the All Progressives Congress is running a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

However, for the core North; the Northwest and Northeast, she said it will be difficult for Peter Obi to get votes in the states because the Northerners there want to retain power.
