The Imo State Government sponsored medical outreach in collaboration with the Association of Nigeria Physicians in America which embarked on a free medical treatment and surgery at several Specialist Hospital across the state has continued to garner the support and goodwill of Imolites as they appreciate Gov. Hope Uzodimma for this kind gesture.
The beneficiaries who couldn’t hide their joy described the medical mission as timely and an answered prayer to their medical issues. Women who received free myomectomy surgery and treatment stated that the condition has left many women vulnerable and prone to childlessness and as a result ruined some families.
They highlighted that this medical condition which is common among women has high rate of mortality especially if not operated on by the best hands and appreciated the state government and the Physicians for taking their time to operate on the women free of charge and without any post operation complication or death recorded so far.
Beneficiaries who where seen at the Imo State Specialist Hospital showered prayers of blessings upon Gov. Hope Uzodimma for coming to their rescue and appealed to other politicians to emulate the goodwill extended by the Governor as a means of reducing mortality rate amongst the women.
The free medical outreach in Owerri which started since Monday has witnessed over 100 successful surgeries which includes; Shunting for Hydrocephalus, cataract, goitre, myomectomy, herniorrhaphy etc.
