A member of the House of Representatives, representing Kaduna North, Honourable Samaila Suleiman, has disclosed that the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai should be arrested and prosecuted for his counter currency order to the citizens of Kaduna state, which was an affront against the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria and treasonable of fence. According to the report that was made online by Nigerian Tribune on Sunday afternoon, the Kaduna lawmaker noted that El-Rufai’s order of 16th February, 2023 was not only illegal, unwarranted and outright treasonable, but it also undermines the office of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria regarding the legal tender status of the old 500 and 1000 Naira Notes.
Hon. Suleiman further disclosed that the People of Kaduna State and Nigeria at large do not and will never listen to El-Rufai’s order concerning the naira redesign policy because President Muhammadu Buhari as the first citizen wants the best for Nigerians and that’s why he brought the idea of the currency redesign.
Hon. Suleiman said, “El-Rufai should be arrested for threatening the position of president Buhari”. Please be on high alert and move in to defend and protect our democracy, the sanctity and integrity of the Nigerian state as one indivisible and indissoluble entity by arresting and prosecuting Nasir El-Rufai for his treasonable conduct which constitutes serious threat not only to democracy but the entire entity called the federal Republic of Nigeria”, he added.
