Ahead of Nigeria’s presidential election on Saturday, the Senate Majority Leader, Orji Uzo Kalu, has said the local governor, Samuel Ortom’s endorsement of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was a planned ploy to help him become a state senator.
This comes a day after Governor Ortom hosted the Igbo community at the Benue State Government House and concerning Saturday’s elections Governor Ortom said he was ready to sacrifice his mandate for Peter Obi to win.
In an interview session with Channels Television on Wednesday, the Senate Chief Whip said the G5 governors including Samuel Ortom will work for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“I don’t think the Governor of Benue works for the Labour Party.” “He wants to use that to win the election. The G5 governors have decided to work for none other than Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Party (APC).” Orji Uzo Kalu stated.
