An influential and popular Nollywood Actor and Comedian, Chief Chika Okpala, MON, MFR(Chief Zebrudaya Okorigwe Nwogbo Alias 4.30) who hails from Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, has endorsed the Senatorial election bid of Sen. Victor Umeh, OFR, Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, describing him as “a Statesman with a Heart of Gold”.
Endorsing the people’s Senator during an interactive meeting in Enugu recently, Chief Okpala described Senator Dr. Victor Umeh, OFR (Ohamadike Ndigbo), as a strong, bold courageous, dynamic, resourceful and avowed defender of true tenets of democracy who took Ndigbo to the centre of Nigeria’s political stage where Ndigbo stood up to be counted in the nation’s political history.
Okpala said his endorsement of Senator Victor Umeh hinged not only on his credentials, but also his impressive transformational performance, immense contributions and laudable achievements in the 8th Senate.
While reeling out Senator Umeh’s numerous projects, the influential and popular Nollywood Actor and Comedian, Chief Chika Okpala, MFR, highlighted that in just 17 Months, Senator Victor Umeh, OFR attracted 68 projects across the 58 communities in Anambra Central Senatorial District worth N1.34b (One Billion, Three Hundred and Forty Million Naira). Essentially, over 80 percent of the projects were transparently completed without a Kobo going to him.
He further stated that in 2018 alone, Senator Umeh graciously awarded Seventy-Six(76) Scholarships from first year to indigent but brilliant Students, a minimum of 10 Students each from the seven Local Government Areas in the Anambra Central Senatorial District.

According to Chief Okpala, Umeh has stood up to be counted when it mattered for Ndigbo. Most remarkably, he sponsored the motion on “The Urgent Need To Include The Eastern Rail lines in the Nigerian Railway Development Project”, Motion On The Urgent Need To Appoint A Representative of the South-East Into The National Defence Council And The National Security Council, Motion On The Illegal Confinement of Underage Offenders And Infants In The Same Prison With Adult Prisoners, which was adjudged the ‘Best Overall Motion At The National Assembly in 2018’, among other landmark motions.
He noted that Senator Umeh has been a major player in the current democratic dispensation, having a productive stint in the Senate. He was also a delegate of the 2014 National Conference where he distinguished himself as a thorough-bred democrat.
According to Chief Okpala, for the reason that Umeh believes that Restructuring is possible through constitutional amendment and by playing the right politics and doing sufficient lobbying for other zones to see reason on why Nigerians will be happier together in a true Federalism, Umeh’s quest for the Senate is perfectly in order and will lead to dramatic turn around for the South-East and indeed, for Nigeria by inspiring synergy. He stated that since resetting Nigeria should be the first task for the incoming President if he will succeed, it is important to weigh who among Umeh’s co-contenders can courageously push it through to set the stage for unity, economic recovery and development. Chief Okpala emphasized that Senator Umeh remains the best among the Candidates aspiring to represent Anambra Central Senatorial Zone and therefore, should be voted in without further reservations. He urged the people of Anambra Central Senatorial Zone to unite and elect Umeh, as he has performed excellently and was going to do more in the 10th Senate, adding that he will pursue and secure federal jobs for our teeming graduates, secure necessary critical projects for Anambra Central Senatorial Zone.
