It’s been a battle of words in the Nigerian political scene ever since the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner of the just-concluded presidential polls, where he raked in over 8 million valid votes to triumph over former vice president Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who came second, third, and fourth, respectively.
Recall that while Tinubu delivered his acceptance speech on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, he appreciated two of his supporters for being present at the National Collation Center, namely, Mr. Aminu and Mr. Babatunde, and how they handled an unnamed individual, whom he tagged a “let out gorilla.”
Speaking about this catchphrase Tinubu fired at this unnamed individual, the former lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District and the spokesman for the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Dino, took to his official Twitter timeline on Thursday to lament that Tinubu ought not to have called his citizens names if he hopes to govern them.
Senator Dino said, “A man who wants to be president of Nigeria will call a citizen of the country he hopes to govern a gorilla.” With the magnitude of treachery and outrageous wickedness exhibited by Bola Tinubu in this election, calls for a gorilla intervention are warranted.
