I Will Choose To Forgo My Political Career To Do What Is Right’ – Makinde Reacts To Atiku’s Loss

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has stated that he has no regret for not supporting the PDP Presidential Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the just concluded Presidential election. Governor Makinde alleged that the Waziri of Adamawa displayed a nonchalant attitude towards the Southerners in the party. He stated that the G5 governors had to stand for equity, fairness, and justice in the Presidential election.

In his words, the sheer arrogance exhibited by the people in Atiku’s camp is gone after that election, and that they will see the reason to align with them. If you would recall that Bola Tinubu polled 449,884 in Oyo state while Atiku Abubakar polled 182,977 number of votes in the state. 

Makinde when asked if he will pay a price for this in his re-election bid, he said, ”Well, that is left to the people of Oyo state. If I have to choose between my political survival and doing what is right and just within the political space in Nigeria. I will choose to forgo my political career to do what is right.”
