Speaking on the Arise News TV show this morning, the Labour Party Governorship Candidate of Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, spoke about how his campaign train was attacked by thugs yesterday in Epe.
Gbadebo said, “As our convoy was moving out, a lot of young men came and tried to block the road, and we could not go in. The police were with us, and it was very important we did not show any force”.
Speaking further, he said, “We had the police go in to meet them, and the DSS was also helpful to neutralize the situation, but they did shoot at us and they did try to intimidate us.”
When asked if he was on top of the bus when the shooting was going, Gbadebo said, “The DSS knew the threat was coming; they went ahead, then came and took me down from the bus and said there is a threat in front we are going to neutralize it, and as they went, we heard gunshots in the air.”
