Labour Party presidential candidate in February 25th election, Mr Peter Obi has reacted after it was reported that some people lost their lives during the Governorship election on Saturday.
It was reported by the media on Saturday that some people were killed during the Governorship election by some set of people when they were trying to cast their votes, and that has been generating reactions from Nigerians.
Despite the fact that INEC chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu promised Nigerians free and fair election, there are some obstacles in the process, and many political thugs were able to deny some voters the opportunity to perform their civic duties, and that also led to lost of lives.
Mr Peter Obi was not happy with what really happened during the Governorship election across the country and he has now sympathized with the family of the people who lost their lives, and he also wished those who were injured a quick recovery.
Reacting after it was reported that some people lost their lives during the Governorship elections in Nigeria, Mr Peter Obi posted on his verified Twitter handle that;
“With sadness, my heart goes deeply to the Nigerians who lost their lives and those who were maimed for participating in such a simple thing as an election. My prayers and wishes for a quick recovery of the injured.
My sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. May God Almighty grant them eternal rest, and grant their families the fortitude to bear their sad irreplaceable loss. I pray earnestly that God Almighty will save and help Nigeria out of this precarious situation.”
