The 2023 governorship election is still ongoing as results are being collated in some states while INEC has declared the winners in some other states. In the South-east, some states already know their governor-elect while in Enugu state and Abia state, INEC has temporarily suspended collation of results. This has got many people talking.
While responding to the happenings in the South-East, former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has taken to her twitter page to send a message to governors in the South-East. The former minister told South-East governors not to act Irresponsibly by trying to destabilize their states. She asked them to respect the wishes of voters in their states because elections are not war.
She wrote “Any of you, Governors of the South East States – Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, Imo, Anambra- acting irresponsibly and trying to destabilize your States, better STOP IT NOW. Stop. Elections are NOT war. Respect the wishes of the voters in your States. Stop all selfish actions now.”
