The Governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Dr. Alex Oti, defeated his opponents to become the Governor elect of Abia State. He defeated the Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Okechukwu Ahiwe. Dr. Alex Oti won 10 local government areas in Abia State, as the PDP candidate, Ahiwe swept six. Labour Party got a total number of 175467 votes, while PDP got a 88,529.
