
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has revealed what he discussed with former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo when he met him in Anambra State yesterday.
Olusegun Obasanjo, who served as Nigerian democratically elected president between 1999 and 2007 is one of those who supported Peter Obi ahead of last month’s presidential election.
Peter Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State was later defeated by the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu defeated Peter Obi and other strong contenders including Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party. Peter Obi has however inaugurated his legal team to challenge the victory of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The former Governor of Anambra State claimed that the presidential election results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission were manipulated in favour of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate.
Obasanjo and Peter Obi, who met at the Anambra airport yesterday discussed many issues.
Reacting after meeting Obasanjo, Peter Obi said; “I am very grateful for the quiet time with the former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at the Anambra airport yesterday. We exchanged views on the state of play and state of the nation. -PO”
