A pressure group under the auspices of Enugu APC Conscience(ENAPCO) has called on the Party in the State to recommend an Nsukka son for the Ministerial slot that is due for Enugu State.
The group of young APC members drawn from across the State made the call during their meeting at Nsukka Sports Club on Monday.
According to the convener, Hon Sydney Eze, “ENAPCO has come up with strategies aimed at securing the apex appointment for the zone, this includes but not limited to; lobbying and appealing to the State chapter of the party to throw her weight behind this singular aspiration that can make Enugu North District have a fair sense of belonging in the affairs of the party after putting in so much for the growth of the party thus far”.
It could be recalled that Enugu East District got the Secretary of the Party, Guber Candidate while Enugu West District got the State Chairman, National Deputy Chairman South during the Party congresses, leaving Enugu North District with nothing, this is in spite of the hitherto lopsidedness of the FG appointments that came to Enugu State with Enugu North District at the short end of the reward system.
The group declared, “We are not going to relent in making our brothers in APC from the other zones and beyond to understand that Enugu North Zone should, as a matter of justice and fair play, be recommended for high office to make up for years of neglect”.
