The Christian religion is an evangelistic religion. It means that Christians should be actively going out to try to win converts to their faith. Conversion in Christianity starts from repentance, and then an acceptance of the lordship of Jesus Christ.
However, Frank Edwards, a gospel musician, has declared that repentance is not by force. He made this statement in a message to his followers on his social media account.
According to him, preaching is for people who are willing and so it’s not by force to repent. He gave the example of Jesus Christ, who does not force himself on anyone, and declared that although he stands and knocks on the heart of every man, he will only visit those who willingly open the door for him.
Based on this, he explained that preaching should never offend anyone as you are free to either accept or reject it.
“Jesus knocks. He does not force his way into your heart. Preaching should never offend you. It is not by force to repent. If you want to continue in your ways, well-done,” he said.
