It is no more news that the management of Covenant University, owned by Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has decided to bar Hijab-wearing candidates from sitting for the Mock JAMB examinations at its campus in Otta, Ogun State. This was revealed through a video that was posted online.
Aisha Yesufu, who is a Nigerian human rights activist, has taken to her twitter handle to react to this. She said that the discrimination against the hijab is not only an injustice but it speaks of such a huge inferiority complex.
She continued by saying that if the Convenant university does not want hijab then it should not partake in being a centre for JAMB which is open to the public and not just its students.
In her words, “The discrimination against the hijab is not only an injustice but it speaks of such a huge inferiority complex. If Convenant university does not want hijab then it should not partake in being a centre for JAMB which is open to the public and not just its students”.
