Alex Otti Joined Labour Party When It Became Obvious That APC Will Not Give Him Guber Ticket – Mary Ikoku

A member of the All Progressives Congress in Imo State, Mary Ikoku, has disclosed that one thing most political parties in Nigeria has in common is that most of them does not have internal democracy.




According to Mary Ikoku, the Governor-elect of Abia State, Alex Otti, only decided to leave the APC when it became obvious that APC will not give him the gubernatorial ticket of the party in Abia State.

Mary Ikoku disclosed that Alex Otti discovered the unlikelihood of getting the gubernatorial ticket during the primary election of the APC and for that reason, he joined the Labour Party where he got the ticket.

Mary Ikoku explained that she had to go to court to challenge the APC’s pattern of conducting its primary election because she felt that the primary election was not free and fair.

Mary Ikoku went on to reveal that after she failed to get her ticket under the All Progressives Congress in Abia State, she reached out to Alex Otti in the Labour Party because of the history they had together.
