Amid the ongoing public debate that has trailed the outcome of the presidential elections conducted by INEC on February 25, renowned political analyst, Mr. Liborous Oshoma has come out to explain why it appears that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is getting a dose of its own medicine from the hands of Labour Party (LP) supporters who are popularly known as Obidients.
While analyzing the faceoff between members of the Obidient Movement and spokespersons of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Oshoma, who was a guest on ARISE TV a few hours ago, opined that the ruling party is now at the receiving end of what its supporters did to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the runup to the 2015 election.
He said; “If you go back to the aftermath of the 2015 election, Nigerians thought that they had seen the end of the division that reared its ugly head in the country. But rather than heal the wounds of ethnic and religious division, the new government chose to drive the nail further down the cracks, and then in the build-up to the 2023 election, it became a serious fight. What we are now seeing and hearing from people is not what democracy should be about. We are seeing situations where, if a person differs from the opinions of another political party, they get insulted. Reasoning appears to have taken flight.
But you have to recall that this was a tool used by the ‘Buharists’ back in 2014 and 2015, and now, it is a tool being used by a lot of the Obidients. So, I think the APC is getting a dose of its own medicine. The ruling party is being paid back in its own coin because what it did against the PDP back then, is basically what the Obidients are doing to them today.”
