Nana Kazaure, a spokesperson for Nigeria’s Labour Party, has stated that the Nigerian government should be able to explain why the passport of opposition leader Peter Obi may have been cloned. Kazaure expressed concern about the daily harassment of the opposition and criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for failing to demonstrate a commitment to national unity.
She suggested that the APC’s actions are misguided and suggested that the government should focus on bringing the country together rather than targeting opposition leaders. The comments come amid a contentious political environment in Nigeria, with the opposition accusing the government of using various tactics to suppress dissent and opposition voices. The Labour Party has called for more transparency and dialogue between the government and opposition parties to address these issues.
She said, “The Nigerian government has the answer to why Peter Obi’s passport would have been cloned. We are being hounded daily. The APC has done everything but shown us that they want a government of national unity. They are ill-advised.”
