Former senator from the northern part of Nigeria, Shehu Sani, took to his verified social media platform (twitter) to make some comments related to elections in Nigeria.
Former senator Shehu Sani said, “I think Nigeria’s (our) election has reached a point where you will just contest then invite your friend to declare you won the contest or declare you the winner.”
Speaking further, former senator Shehu Sani said, “our election has also gotten to a point where after being declared a winner, the contestant can just make an acceptance speech and quickly rush to the court to get a judicial backing.”
Lastly, former senator Shehu Sani said, “I hope the Directors of Nollywood movies are taking notes from these occurrences for their next movies.”
Recall that the ruling party’s gubernatorial Candidate in Adamawa state, Aishatu Dahiru Binani, was spotted giving her acceptance speech after being wrongly pronounced the winner. This was likely what former senator Shehu Sani was referring to.
