
Ubi Ebri, an Inspector with Delta State Police Command has been dismissed and will be arraigned in court today, Wednesday, for allegedly killing one 26-year-old man, Onyeka Ibe along Ugbolu-Illah Road in Asaba, the Delta State capital for allegedly refusing his request for a N100 bribe.
Ebri reportedly killed Ibe said to be a dealer in telephones in Ogbeogonogo market, Asaba on April 5, 2023,
Though the deceased was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba after he was shot, he was confirmed dead on arrival.
The angry youths had paraded the streets with the remains of the trader in Asaba demanding justice over the extra judicial killing.
The led to the identification of Ebri as the culprit behind the killing and his arrest by the Delta Police Command.
Giving update on the incident on Tuesday, the Police Command, in a statement by its spokesperson said the Inspector has been dismissed and will be arraigned in court over the killing of the trader.
“Ubi Ebri has been dismissed from the Nigeria Police force and will be charged to court Wednesday, April 19, 2023,” the statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright, read.
