A leader of the Labour Party, Anslem Eragbe, has cautioned that Obi’s case needs more support than is now provided.
According to Eragbe, the Labour Party does not have the form EC8A for certain of the polling districts where the presidential election was place. He said that the form EC8A, which is used to record election results at the polling unit level, is essential to Obi’s case. As a result of having insufficient polling unit agents during the presidential election, he said, the Labour Party does not possess the entirety of form EC8A.
Eragbe said, “I am saying to Nigerians that even though we are in the tribunal, something is missing.” The effective form EC8A, which was supposed to be assembled from the polling unit, is absent, which is what is wanting.
Whatever I say here, I say to the world: “If anyone feels differently (sic), what I am saying to the world is obviously certain things are missing, and until people like me come to the fore and lead this process, we may be wasting our time at the election petition tribunal because it is not by the volume of a hundred-page document by way of a written petition, it is by way of fact.” Where can you get such documents EC8A when the Labour Party in that presidential election was unable to account for nearly 42,000 polling unit agents under Abure?
